Narrowed down the choice to Nitto and Monsta. Ended up going for the Monsta terra grapplers in 265/50R20.

The reported wet weather issues of the Nittos combined with the high load rating of the Monsta tyres made my choice.

Got 5 tyres fitted for $200 each in Melbourne. Performing as expected (after 2 days).

    Hope they perform well.
Please keep us updated on how they behave in different types of use.

Got five Monsta's fitted on Saturday, $195 ea at Matthews Tyres here in Sydney. So far so good, slightly firmer ride than the Maxxis, actually seems to steer better more direct. Noise is not that bad either, definitely not intrusive.

Will report back after a bit more time with them, heading to Cooma this weekend so will see how they go on a trip.

    Thanks for the advice

    Side View

    Hi,

    As requested another view.

Also, I have had the tyres on for a week or so now. This has included the first significant rain in Melbourne for some time. They performed very well in the wet.

We also travel over a loose gravel road every day and I feel that there is better grip and direct steering than the OEM Pirelli tyres, so they feel much better on loose surfaces.

Their LI 116 is unusually high for the size.

Yes, Most of their tyres are higher than other brands. I don't know if they've exaggerated a bit or if it has very strong sidewalls.

My Monsta ATs are still going strong, definitely a lot noisier than the Nittos but not so bad that I want to swap them out.

The original version seemed to have some wet weather issues but do the TG2 also?

Currently 275 40 22, I just picked up some take off from new 20" wheels with 255 55 20. I will use them for a while and then go to 275 55 20. I'm hoping that the 20s improve the ride (a lot) as I'm not that happy with ride comfort on the 22" wheels.

    Got some new shoes today.

    Monsta Terrain Grippers 265/50R20

Slight noise when driving but nothing intrusive at all.

    Really happy so far.
