Fit the Armoured gear and you should be able to get it engineered up to 4050kg GVM

Probably not the place for it, but it begs the question, why do we need to tow 3.5 tonnes of caravan , anyway? Like Ernie Dingo said, "why go bush, if you're going to take the city with you?"

Extra 810kg...wonder what the armoured gear weighs over and above the standard parts.

Simple really, I want to take my Wife and daughter and three motorbikes. Wife is much happier with the caravan which means I get to go bush more often.

Neither do I but I might want to use a car trailer and for work it sometime more cost effective to tow a big load rather than using freight.

Re: caravaners everybody has different reasons on the size and type of caravan they wish to live out of.

There are a couple of people I know of who use an older D3 & D4 to tow heavy work trailers (rather than caravans). They got their cars cheap, in good condition, and they prefer these as tow vehicles rather than dual cab utes, especially since they work out of the city a lot. It's horses for courses really.
