Aftermarket wheel nut wrench

I don't get it ...

Replace the nuts, they are obviously screwed....simple!

For years I used the LR wrench ... including numerous wheel changes to the GOE 18"s....no issue!

I then bought a 6 sided, 4 way combination wrench from an auto-barn type store ... colour coded the 22 end.....no issue.

I'm relatively strong but not a big bloke and I just incrementally cross-torque when doing the nuts up, until firm....two D4s since 2010 .... no issue. Nuts are always relatively easy to get off and have never been unduly tight nor loose. LR or the 4 way fits every time, so I've obviously never compromised the nut.

I do clean and grease the studs with a high quality grease every time I change the wheels. I do also clean and grease the interface between the wheel and the car side.

That is not going to end well, you are more likely to make the situation worse. Put it down to experience, replace the nuts and get a better wrench.

I have both. The extension handle wrench is ideal to undo nuts but I prefer to finish the tightening up by torque wrench.
However around town I don't bother carrying the torque wrench because the wrench is good enough until you get home to check torque.

Thanks I will do that, but I got to get the nuts off first. Hence looking for a wrench that will fit. I might just get my indy to do it as he has it for a couple of days to replace the radiator.

If you are replacing them and have the replacements with you then hammering on the socket then hammering it off once removed, then discarding is easy enough.

I carry a long 3/4" drive ratchet, short extension, and the socket. No problems. I don't carry a $100 torque wrench in the car but if I have to change a tyre then I torque it at home when the repaired tyre goes back on.

You might also look at an imperial socket size when you go to hammer one on, as the 23mm may be too big. Just use whatever is the closest. 7/8” maybe....
