What is most annoying is the complete lack of communication from the "technician" or the office. What about other customers who were waiting for him to turn up?
Or was I the only one they couldn't be bothered calling? I'm really not interested in the tales of woe from management meant to deflect my obvious foul temper about the whole thing.
They've got the part but what they lack is customer service commitment.

    Wink

Time set for the technicians to arrive at 1030 this morning so off cook and I went to get her essential bits for the weekend but not any more toilet rolls.... She's got stockpiles of everything just in case of anything.
Anyway phone rings at around 0930 and it's them saying they'll be with me in 20 minutes. I told them I might be a bit longer as cook was shopping and they said they'd wait but we got back home before they arrived anyway.
15 mins. later and the job is done. No new sensor fitted that I saw but just a clean of the screen the pad sticks to. Tested OK with a spray of window cleaner and off they went.
Now let's see if they work with real rain....

I don't know what crappy brand they tried to put in my RRS a few years back, but the noise - ambient not even wind, heat and glare were terrible in comparison. I took it up with GIO and Obriens and thankfully they sorted it out at no cost to me other than time. At that time Obriens didn't have a separate code in their system for optikool v non-optikool, as it's not "tinting" per se.
Can't wait to find out what happens when the heated screen on the HSE needs replacing...

Does anyone know if the nanocom can adjust rain sensor sensitivity?

OBs use XYG the cheaper brand and usually non acoustic ie thinner. They may have an acoustic vetsion now but after 4 phone calls inc to India...I gave up on them.

Finally got the D4 windscreen replaced. Took 1 hour only and the redults so far are v good. Screen is FY brand acoustic version which looks exactly like the original...same tint etc...and the rain sensor works fine too.

We also reckon the car is a bit quieter.

    Cost 500 bucks fitted.

FY looks like the one to go for atm.

Got my replacement screen fitted at O’Briens Virginia; non genuine but is identical (Pilkington) just no LR badge.

However, the screen has deep scratches on it, they’ve put a big chip in the bonnet down to bare metal, trim along sides & base of windscreen are lose & have big gaps and there seems to be damage to the dashboard Windscreen replacementWindscreen replacementWindscreen replacementWindscreen replacement

And to top it off they won’t return my calls. Insurance company informed so see what’s next.

    Well that's just crap!

I thought the local mob that did mine did a good job until I pulled the 'A' pillar trim off to run the antenna cable to the cab and found they'd used big dollops of sikaflex (or the like) to secure it. Bloody annoyed. I had the correct clips so I've replaced. Will make sure I'm home for next replacement.

Most likely because of the design flaw in the windscreen pillars that lets water into the cabin. There is a tech bulletin on this.

The sikaflex/silastic is used to seal around the clips etc to stop water leaks.

The nearside pillar cover nearly came off during our last trip following the replacement screen fitting. Have I posted this before? Anyway I replaced it but a couple of the fittings are broken no doubt by them wrenching off the thing with no care at all. Just grabbed it at the top and pulled it off.
I couldn't watch as it nearly made me cry.
I'll buy some new fittings and hope I don't need another screen while it's in my ownership.
Really ****es me off the way some so called experts treat others hard earned belongings with such complete bloody lack of care.
