Rear Door Lock/actuator

So, I checked the fuses. Both seem to be ok, as the RH rear door works fine and I swapped them over (L <-> R). Also, the window works fine, and I notice the description of that fuse is for the window, central locking and ... (something else I forget).

I noticed that the door lock is actually trying to move, when I lock/unlock the central locking. It tries to open if it's locked, and tries to lock if it's open. It 'twitches' when the central locking actuates.
Does this mean the actuator is working, and it's a mechanical problem?
Or that the actuator is not working (trying to, but faulty in some form)? I thought if it was broken, it wouldn't be working at all????

Any hints?

It’s the motors in the lock mechanism like I’ve previously said. Either replace the unit as a whole or replace the internal DC motor.
