BFG did a Long Trail for quite some time. I'm pretty sure they still do. And most, if not all, of them were indeed LT construction - the Yanks love LTs. If the size has LT immediately before or after it (depends on Floatation or not as to after or before) it's an LT. LT265/75R16 (metric) or 31x10.5R15LT (floatation) sort of thing. If the LT appears anywhere else it's not related to the construction. Might as well be a car badge then. BFG LTXi Sport Turbo Ghia [emoji14]

Just received GOE rims.

Considering Michelin LTX Force amongst those spoken of on the forum over the last couple of years. Anyone know someone who has had them on? Reviews I've read seem ok. They have a 110 rating - is that ok for a D4?

Relatively new, and something I've considered for a D2.

So far the reviews mention exceptional wet grip, but being a fairly mild pattern they will probably clog quickly.

No off road use ATM as my wife is too ill. I saw that they had "CushionGuard: A layer of special filtering rubber minimizes vibrations/shocks from the road." and thought that it was a reasonable compromise from the usual A/T tyres suggested here and may make a more comfortable ride for her whilst still giving me a more robust tyre than the usual H/T as I had a side wall split after a bump against one of those damn speed calming "S" devices with the oem tyres. Ringing around for prices yesterday one dealer said he had no personal experience but several of his customers had given good feedback about their comfort and longevity and were all very happy with them.

If they are anything like the Michelin XPC that was OEM on the D2's with 16" rims,they had fantastic on road grip,particularly in the wet,lasted forever,talking around 90K,good in sand,got noisey as they wore,but a bit soft for gravel and rocky roads.We had punctures with rocks going through the treads.Clogged quickly in mud as well.

So, I get the new rims fitted with 265/60/18 tyres on Friday and swap onto those. Is there anything I need to do out of the ordinary. For example, I want to get a wheel alignment done but prefer to use my local LR indy who will be 30 or 40 km from where I buy the tyres. Any problem with that or do I need to do this immediately? From previous reading the speedo will be more accurate but I don't really need to use my GAPIID tool to reset the CCF.

Maybe a dumb question but I don't know the answer and would rather not stuff a new set of tyres. [bighmmm]
