I heard recently that the +4 psi rule does not apply to LT tyres — rather, for LT tyres it is +6 psi. I personally have no idea and am not sure if your tyres are LT or not. I do know that with my BFG KO2, the cold pressures started getting very high when I was following the 4 psi rule. I'm still working out pressures for 6 psi as I don't do enough long runs.Quote:

Well, as they say, you learn something every day. Never considered ambient temperature affected the tyre pressure before. I only ever thought about whether I had driven the car and hence the tyres were heated because of that. Kind of obvious when you think about it though.

Thats why race cars run nitrogen in the tyres,an inert gas.We also use it for pressure testing pipework for the same reason.Quote:

For anyone interested, I was talking to the local Falken tyres rep yesterday and he 'suggested' I hold off buying my tyres till July as there will most likely be another one of their 'buy 3 tyres, get the 4th tyre free' deal happening.
