So what fuel and driver weight is included in the GVM?
I have also read very conflicting reports on whether tow ball weight is added to the total. Is it included when calculating GVM?
I think I may end up a "little" over on our trip up north in a couple of weeks
75kg driver included.
Towing ball weight doesn’t impact D3/4
Scott's just removed all his seats etc,, it'll be interesting if he puts it over a bridge.
I'm yet to remove mine, but it's been fairly weighty at times when travelling. 3520kg on the last occasion whilst towing the caravan, but not sure at all what the actual towball weight of the van is, and I can't remember if I had both tanks full.
Yes, temporarily for a Simpson trip later this year.
But decided to keep the front row, floor is not that comfortable and it's a struggle to see out too [emoji2]
3rd row weighs between 40-45kg
2nd row weighs between 75-78kg with each seat weighing 25-26
I will be putting it over the bridge at some stage.
Scott
Jack,
Mine is a 2012 SDV6... ARB bull bar, steel sliders, Kaymar Rear bar with 1 spare, Longranger 105l long range tank, snorkel, alloy compressor guard, Rhino platform, no draws, but a shelf I built out of cube lock and ply. Traxide dual battery system with a yellow top as the second battery - I have no winch.
with all tanks full, my Engel 40L in the back but empty over the bridge mine was 3140Kg (1360Kg and 1780Kg on the axles)
As you can see..... not a lot of room .. I'm not even 100% sure that included me. if it didn't I'm over at that point :(
Luckily I tend to travel alone.... but clothes, food, camp gear, and camera gear take it over.
As the others have said.... car handles it easily.... but GVM is a problem.
When I can be bothered I’ll be speaking with an engineer about fitting the Armoured D4 suspension and subsequent GVM increase.
