I have had my RRS for 8 years and never knew that - works great. I learnt how to kill the seat belt gonga but still have not heard how to kill the gonga when the key is in the ignition and the front door open.

Any pointers on this and any other tricks .

How do you kill the gonga for the seat belt? After recently buying the D4 from Geedublya I have been doing a fair bit of reading & I recall seeing the interior lights trick on the Green oval Experience hand book, pretty handy eh. There’s more there you can learn, if interested. Key in the ignition gonga is an expensive fix. You need to buy the keyless entry key fob that comes with a suitable set of new wheels.

For the D3 - At switched ignition you have to clip and unclip the drivers seatbelt nine times (in app. one minute) Then the chime stops - for both seats, only the dash light stays on. Not sure if it also applies to the D4.

You know I have the book and read it many times and don't remember this - yet there it is on page 19.

I guess that is a D4 thing as the D3/RRS does not come with keyless entry. I have enquired to this issue many times over the years on a number of forums and no one has the answer so I assume there is not one. The gonga can be killed but then you loose all audio signals for all functions. Interestingly in some circumstances the gonga does turn itself off after 60 secs but in others it stays on all the time - I have not worked out what causes the different timing.

Thanks for you input - I appreciate it

I bought a set of 10 yorkim LED globes as mentioned earlier and fitted them just before dark, an improvement on the filament globes without being too stark. 9 did all the roof lights so one for a spare.

No, they were considerably cheaper when I ordered them. you've gotta watch out for the sales.
as Tombie said I've already spent way too much on my disco, I can only afford things when they are on sale.

Pulling a thread out of the archives, however is there a current recommendation for warm white LEDs?

I want to replace the halogens with LED, but retain the halogen colour if possible. Some reds are a good idea too - maybe for the kids readings lights in the back :-)

The crisp white makes finding things a lot easier at night… I’ll have a look and see if I have any Warm white LEDs here though.

I have plenty of Red ones. PM me and I’ll get in touch.

+1 on that, this is why I changed mine over to crisp white throughout (with the exception of the drivers door puddle lamp.) Even did the licence plate lamps, and just recently the reversing and rear fog lamp bulbs with LEDs. Now I can truly see when reversing at night (no reversing camera on by SE spec D4).
