    Caravan camera Safety Dave wiring access / Power and Earth access D4

    Hi everyone;

    Ive purchased an Safety Dave Caravan camera loom and monitor. All I need access to is an switched or accessory live feed and Earth. Also, access of the cable into the vehicle through an bung etc.

    Has anyone here installed one themself and if so, how did you bring the cable inside the Discovery 4, and where did you access accessory power/earth?

    Thanks for any guidance re this.

    Ken

    Switched power can be tapped on the 12S socket

    Access into cabin behind tail lights via loom grommet.

    My Setup

    Hi Baytown,
    I have installed a Safety Dave system.
    Picked up power from the loom (feeding orig towing socket) inside LHS rear quarter panel . Ran this and video cables to front cabin light panel (where my screen is located) through the roof lining via the "C" pillar. Video cable exited body through grommet behind LHS tail light assy as Tombie has suggested. I use the screen as a rear view mirror when the van is on. Works a treat.
    By the way check AULRO for the preferred method to install the van brake controller so there are no surprises.
    Cheers

    Probably a bit late Ken but do you have a factory reverse camera that you can access any time via a button on the factory screen?

    I know this functionality is available from MY14 but not sure about 13. Anyway if you do it is possible to select between an external video source (van camera in this case) and the factory reverse camera meaning you don't require an extra monitor screen. In the thread linked below there's two methods detailed.

    Switching another camera on to the D4 screen
