Thank you for the info on the Michelin as it is the info I wanted. I am booked in next week for a set of 5 Lattitude Tour as I want a pure road tyre as I have a second set of wheels shod with Maxxis 980.
I will be swapping out TOYO H/T open Country which have been good average tyres.
The OEM Wranglers are really quiet, smooth and very grippy in the wet and dry ... even after a bit of wear. I'm still running a set on my recent D4. They've lasted a lot longer than on my first car, because I have a second set of wheels.Quote:

- I've experienced and many have reported that they get puncture prone after 40 - 50Ks. Probably not an issue if you are 100% hardtop but I blew two tyres in a matter of days (well actually three but the first was a tec screw …. so just unlucky) when traversing graded, good quality forestry tracks out near Banarkin State Forest. Stones just went straight through the tread block. Maybe wouldn't have happened if the tyres were running sub 30psi but the road was in very good nick. I'd driven over a lot rougher with no issue when the tyres were new.
Agree. I got two small punctures after 40Ks and going off-road. One so small and with a very slow leak that I couldn’t find it, but made it the spare and kept the air compressor in the boot. The other occurred at pace on a gravel road at 40psi, which whilst repairable, was the signal to upgrade.Quote:

Mine ride and handle really well, but I too have one or two concerning sidewall cuts that I'm keeping an eye on. The tread itself is wearing really well and evenly - no need for rotation after over 10k kmQuote:

The Wrangler 255/55/19 OEM tyres that came fitted to my D4 MY12 were a great road tyre. Lasting 47K, when I changed them before a big trip. They also performed well when towing our 3T caravan. Additionally they were great on the beach and dirt roads. I changed to the more aggressive Cooper Zeons because I'm now driving more in Central and Western Australian back roads whilst towing.Quote:

+1 for the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season, great road tyre (same cannot be said for Pirelli Scorpion ATR , which gets skittish in the wet )Quote:

Mine have done c. 43,000 km since new, the fronts have chipped quite badly although I could probably get another 2-3,000 km's out of them with a rotation as the back still have a few mm left. I have just bought a new set from tyresales.com.au which came to $892 inc fitting.
Car spends 98% of it's time on road, some towing (1800kg van) and some - not enough! - off road - Double Island / Mt Mee / Gordon Country type off road. I toyed with the idea of going for an AT tyre however grip in the wet on road, durability for extended highway kms coming up and quietness swayed me just to replace the Wranglers.
Regarding wheel alignment - are there any tricks to this in a D4 or can the average tyre place do them? I thought I read somewhere on here there is a 'wheel alignment mode' in the steering / computer options
