Thanks for the advice. Saw the small number. May as well get a key before I try tapping it out. Looks like that UK place is the lowest cost. Shame there isn't a place in Sydney to just supply a key. Getting a key from the UK just seems wrong from an environment perspective. More expensive is a new complete barrel from LR.

Sadly the key I was sent from them didn’t work for me. Wasn’t worth sending it back given the small cost

On my D4 I can't seem to remove the tow bar holder. Just got it 3 months ago. I pull out the green knob and it can rotate it about 40 degrees. With my finger behind the hitch I can feel the pin holding it retracting and the hitch is now looser. I can wobble it a bit but it won't fully release. I presume it should just drop out onto my foot :-)

How much should that green knob rotate? If it's locked then I presume it would not rotate?

I don't have a key for the hitch either. I'm wondering if I can get it rekeyed once I get it off?

There was a post a while ago about corrosion on the hitches and that one should not leave them connected all the time. Search but can't find that recent post.

Make sure you check in the far crevices of the glovebox and also the rear storage lockers as this is where the previous owner maybe left the key? It’s quite small.

    Hi all

Thanks Eevo. Ordered 2 keys at about 10 UK pounds + airfreight which with the Aussie dollar came out to be AU$ 20. They fit fine :-)
The hitch came off easily. Thanks for the help.
