I have not named the service centre in line with web site directives. You can all determine who I might be talking about. My concern is I now have incomplete service records or now need to keep a book etc. Just a pain.

    You've installed all this stuff - "
APT sliders, Goe air comp plate, UHF & HF radio, Airflow snorkel, Discrete Winch,Compomotive rims with 265/65/18 KO Ta's, LLAMs, Traxide dual battery with winch set up, EAS emergency kit" - so JLRA will probably argue to avoid any warranty issues in any case - related or not....

Keep all your receipts and you'll be fine.

The on-line records for my D4 services at dealers don't match the receipts I received from the dealerships anyway.

I'm out of warranty and happily using an indie who has provided a service booklet for my records, I keep receipts, and they keep a record on their 'puter.

What the?? There is NO guarantee that the dealer is going to add any additional work, notations, work recommendations or anything other than the km and date and type of service. I couldn't care less about information like that, as Dazza and others know from experience a dealer history means absolutely squat. I have a 2006 rrs in today, at 191k, dealer stamped book bla bla bla and never had the transfer case, uato trans or diff oils changed. Ever.

The best thing to do is leep all your independent repairers DETAILED invoices and lists of recommendations etc etc in a big file, and if you are selling the car, just hand it over...

But your car does have a service book - my car has a full service history and it was only ever serviced by the dealer on the delivery service - it has now done 150,000km and the book has the appropriate entry for all services - done by me - stamped and signed. In addition I keep am associated record of addition items like brakes/tyres/failures such as alternator.

Surely you have your service book stamped and signed.

Sorry I really do not see what the issue is - is your responsibility to ensure the records are correct and maintained.

Well back in 2007 when mine was built it went into the cloud (I dont think it was called that then) and signed off in the book . When I got mine in 2010 I was able to check the cloud to confirm that the injection pump recall etc had not been done and confirm what was in the service book was correct - delivery service only and no 12,000k services done at dealers but book showed all services done reputable indies (the car was in a remote location so no dealers around).

People forget that once you take delivery of a car it is your car and not Landrovers and you as owner are responsible for maintenance and records not the cloud.

I've found service history doesn't count for much if the recommended repairs haven't been done.

Garry, as Justin said, it’s all on the cloud and they don’t come with a service book anymore. Nothing to stamp.
You have access to formally print that it was serviced, but no different to the book. It doesn’t say what happened at the service.
I’ve only had 2 services, so I just like before, keep the receipt as to what was actually performed.

The receipt shows what they billed you for, not necessarily what they did in my experience.
