CAN-Mate SRT Single Vehicle - BLACKBOX SOLUTIONS LTD
Hi I have just purchased a 2005 D3 and would like some assistance with the service indicator. When purchased the indicator showed -26000K and the clock symbol. I bought a Cresetter tool form ebay a reset the service indicator. Display now shows -1 and still has the clock face showing at start up. Should the clock face still be showing?
When cleared what should the display show? Has anyone used one of the Launch Cresetter tools and is it OK. Are there any other resetting tools available?

I reset mine yesterday morning after my oil change without any scan tools.
Ignition off.
Push and hold odometer reset button
Ignition on to position II
once "service" flashes in small info window - let go button and press again briefly.
"rst" will appear.
press again and "date" will appear.
press again and date is reset.
the "odd" (i think) appears.
Press again and odd is reset.
The "end" appears.
Turn ignition off. Wit about 10 seconds and next time you start the car the service reminder should not appear until the next "interval" comes around.
I do this often, and maybe too often to remember the exact key press order, (I am sure the above process is close) but you can't stuff it up by trying.
There are you tube vids on this too.
Cheers - Matti
Hi Matti - you and your car is about the only one I have heard of this working.
Just tried your approach on my car and the "service" indicator never flashed and all I did was reset the manual trip meter.
Certainly does not work for my car - but if it works for you there is something in your system that allows it to work where it does not in most other cars.
cheers
Garry

Thanks Garry - Its a MY09 so I don't know whether thats significant.
Tomorrow afternoon I will go out and run through the procedure to get the exact procedure right and document it here so its repeatable.
Was your "service" warning displayed at the time you tried it? Im thinking the approach only works once the "service" notification has been triggered.
Will know of sure tomorrow
Cheers,
Yes my service warning was triggered - I tried your process but my service indicator "service" never started flashing with the tripmeter button pushed.
I then reset mine using my little clicker via the OBDII port - took 5 secs to do - next service indicator for me will be in 365 days or 12,000km whatever is the earlier - I do not set mine with advance warning.
Cheers
Garry

Thanks Garry,
I went through the process again this morning taking note of times and button presses.
Ignition off
push and hold in trip meter reset button on dashboard (not stalk) - you will notice the numbers come up (total distance travelled and trip meter distance)
Turn key to ignition position II (just before it starts)
While holding the trip reset button you will see the word "SERVICE" start flashing on the bottom of the screen.
It will flash 6 times (about 6 seconds) and the remain on.
Release the button briefly (less than one second) and press and hold it again.
The word "dist" will come on the screen.
release the button briefly (less than 1 second) and push and hold again.
Now at this time, because I reset mine 5 days ago and there is no pending reminder, the screen said "cannot reset at this time".
If it was last Saturday with a pending service reminder stored it will change the screen and say "rst" (reset)
at which time you will release the button beifly and press again. The screen will then show "date".
Release briefly and press and it will then change to "rst".
release and press again and it will say "end".
Release button. Turn ignition off and when you next cycle the ignition the service reminder (distance to next service and days) will not appear until the next pre-set distance of 12000km.
I just had a thought - if your vehicle does not have the interval pre-set at 12000km? then maybe it wont come up at all? It may be a CCF thing?? Not sure...
Mine has worked this way since I discovered this on youtube some 3 years ago.
Hopefully it will work for someone else.
I will video it next time and post it up here.
Cheers,
Thanks - this is where I come unstuck with my car - the "Service" does not start flashing - just shows for a few seconds and extinguishes. Probably relates to different versions of the CCF in our cars.
Clearly your system works so I would be interested if it works for anyone else.
