From what I have read in previous forums (thank you) is the 18” are recommended but you have less Tyre options and they look very expensive. My kids are still young so I won’t be doing any hard core off-road work for some time so do you think 19’s will be fine? Also, can anyone recommend a good land rover wheel and tyre suppplier in Brisbane? Thanks!
    I'd be sorting some TuffAnt18" wheels and something like this Dunlop AT22 Grandtrek 265/60R18 110H x 4 (set) | Wheels, Tyres & Rims | Gumtree Australia Dalby Area - Dalby | 1192280017
These are from people with brand new 200series and Hiluxes going straight to a tyre shop for larger more aggressive AT's, for your use, that will be a waste of money until you want to hit long corrugated tracks.

This is exactly what i did for using around town, and they're fine for occasional beach work too. I paid $300 for a set of 4 brand new tyres identical to this from a new hilux so hunt around, this is just the first new set i found in Brisbane.
By comparison, a set of new Bridgestone D697's will be $1600 alone.

Everybody hates on the Grandtreks because they wear down quicker, but when you're getting a set of 4 for the price of one D697 you can't really complain.

Remember you'll have to pay a shop $25ea to fit and balance so hunt around.

Edit: I'd be offering that guy $600 MAX seeing as they're selling brand new for $1000 a set on tyresales right now.

One of them is a newly released model,it maybe the A/T.

Not sure why people waste money on aggressive AT's for highway/city driving. They increase fuel consumption, cost twice as much to buy and offer little benefit. Look good i guess.

I’d be happy with HTs as most of my off road is beach work. But can’t find a HT in 265/60/18s with decent load rating.

Tbh I'd say I actually use the D697s benefits on 2-3 trips a year when I'm either loaded to the point of needing the LT rating or going on tracks that benefit from them.

Worth every $ for those two trips, but not worth wasting tread the other 48 weeks of the year.

2 sets of wheels is the way to go long term.

Depends on your usage. Although I'd doubt most are much different.

Loved seeing the l/100 average sitting around 10.5 on the last trip I did on tarmac.

Thanks, $3500 though. Easy to get carried away as I’m a sucker for my toys and gadgets but for mostly city use and some beach work I think I’ll for once avoid temptation and go for so something not too $$$

Thanks!! I’m in Brisbane, I presume postage would eat into any savings on bulky heavy items.

Yes, but they're available NOW. Get the tyres stripped off to save some freight weight.
