Advice for AT wheels and tyres for disco 4

Hi Guys, new to the forum after buying my first disco 4 2013 SDV6 SE last year. It came with 22 inch rims which look great but I want to pick up an AT set that I can use for occasional beach work. From what I have read in previous forums (thank you) is the 18” are recommended but you have less Tyre options and they look very expensive. My kids are still young so I won’t be doing any hard core off-road work for some time so do you think 19’s will be fine? Also, can anyone recommend a good land rover wheel and tyre suppplier in Brisbane? Thanks!

I thought the 19" on mine were a pain but 22" are even worse. Wouldn't like to try and get a tyre for one of them in the bush. Actually I dumped the original tyres at 36K and had Maxxis 980LT fitted and they are working well. Just done a long trip over some rough roads (Skull Springs Rd for example) and they came through without any cuts or chips.
Not sure yet about their ability on sand but that will come soon.

Thanks for the advice, had a quick look there and they are certainly getting good reviews and seem to be a good price. Any other recommendations? Need to find rims also, not sure about people’s thoughst on OEM’s vs after market?

As you also need rims, have a look at the steel Tuff Ant 18” rims Discovery 18" wheels | Land rover 18" rims | Tuffant | Product Page

or if you want alloy rims Land Rover Discovery D4 Compomotive Wheels

You’ll have a larger selection of tyres with 18” rims.

    OEM 18's won't fit the 3.0l D4.They will fit 2.7l only.

After market 18's is the only way to go.

If you go 19's,you will have issues,18's,and LT tyres is the only way to go.

Agree go 18 not 19 , after market as stated above but IMO go the tuff ant, don't look as good and slightly heavier BUT they will not crack like a few reports about the alloys and you can help an Aussie supplier , buy compomotive OS , the supplier here from recent history will take the $$ and you will be waiting a looooong time

I've recently fitted 265/60R18 Toyo Open Country A/T's. Very happy with them so far.
