    can be a worry

I bought a set 5+ years ago for my D2b after the fantastic write ups on the web. On greasy clay roads and tracks in outback NSW, the rear end tried to pass me twice. I wasn't pushing that hard and the tires were near new. Not sure if it was the tires or that I had not locked the centre diff but real scary sliding sideways towards a tree (just missed it) and later turning inside out on a formed road. I locked the centre diff and drove very sedately for the rest of the trip and all was well (it also stopped raining and dried out). They get a good write up but I'll never buy them again.

AT+ was only released late last year I think?

Correct and they didn't surface here until earlier this year.

I suspect that mutleyrcp was suggesting that a new tyre might get good reviews/promotions but perhaps too early to properly assess the AT+. However there are now lots of AT+ reviews but perhaps too early to know how the carcase performs in the longer term and in tougher conditions. Mine aren't LT but I think they're likely to be as good as any non-LT, hopefully better.

I guess time will tell Graeme.

I'll have to test a few more times but I'm sure the car is a fraction slower to accelerate ..... which I notice when I have the 285 18s on. I'd attribute that to the extra weight of the bigger tyres, so with the AT+ I'm hoping that's an indication of a more robust carcass.

I have a set of Pirelli Scorpian ATRs on my 2015 Disco, just nudging 70,000 km now - compared to the 45,000 km I got out of the OEMs. Probably, 25,000 of the 70,000 km has been towing a 6.5M boat from Nth Qld to the NT and back several times a year.

The ATRs have been great tyres IMO - very sure footed. I have not seen any of the wet road issues that others have talked about. Have had one blow-out travelling at speed on a fairly stoney gravel road.

I have a set of ATR Plus tyres to go on it now - they look great.

I had the ATR's on my D3 and they never missed a beat, a very good tyre in my opinion. On a trip to Broome towing my off road van I went via the Buchanan Highway and the Gibb River Road and they performed faultlessly. I also had no issues in wet weather.
I am looking to put a set of the ATR plus tyres on my D4 but having searched the forum I cannot find any info (except for a spreadsheet that doesn't open completely) on whether the 255/55R20's will fit without rubbing.

I've got AT+ Pirellis on my D3 and I can today testify that they stop dead straight (along with ABS) when a mobile using dickhead pulled out in front of me today. They only have 100 km on them, but I suspect a mm or 2 was used up in the screeching stop!
All I got was a wave, and a smile as she drove off, with her mobile in her hand.
A report has been sent to the Police, but I don't have a dashcam to support it.

Hi SJC, just wondering where u are getting that size from- 255/55R20?
I can only see the 20 inch ATR+ in 275/55R20 on the Pirelli site. The spreadsheet u mention says the 275 will 'rub significantly.
I don't want to do any mods, particularly on the rear air con to fit the larger tyres and was hoping to find 265/50R20, but I don't know if Pirelli make that size I'm Taking The Tyre Plunge
If they don't, I might have to go to the Nitto Terra Grappler G2...
