You can’t bring it in as mentioned because you cannot parallel import. The exception is if you have legitimately owned it for lever twelve months. I have personal experience importing under this legislation. They will want to see your proof of registration and ownership in that country, plus proof of being there including passport verification etc. It even went down including all holidays etc out of the country. While it’s possible to fake it, it’s not easy.
The only argument you might have is if this is truly a different model e.g. commercial as discussed, you might get around it arguing that version is different enough and not sold here, that it qualifies for import.

Where else in the world did LR sell a TDV6 with a manual?

is it the same box as the Defender?

Beats me. I never paid much attention to the specific ratios. I just hooked up the van and took it for a spin to see if it did what I wanted it to do.

I learned to drive in mums car which was a 78 2 door Rangie with the 3.5L V8 and 4 speed box.
She moved from that to the Diesel D1 with the 5 speed box. They had that until it sheared a crank pulley pin in about 2009.

When we went looking for a new (er) disco, my wife wanted a manual and I wasn't about to argue. She also hated the D1 (as it handled a bit like a ferry), and the D2 was tarred with the same brush, so the D3 it was. I'm told there are not many manuals around. We test drove a lot of D3 autos, but the manual appealed (plus it was cheaper as most guys couldn't convince their wives to drive a manual). Never thought a car with a manual box would be hard to sell, but apparently it was.

1st is pretty short, and 2nd is pretty tall. The rest are what they are. My last 6 speed manual was an Audi TT, and I liked that so the idea of a 6 speed manual Disco appealed.

I thought they used the same MT82 as the deefer but I have seen reference to a ZF 6spd box.

They were available in D4,commercial,until the 2.7 was dropped.

Bugger! Why are they such pains in the bum? Proof of being in the country? The old two passport trick? Although it is all computerised and photo’d and all.

There were quite a few TDV6's sold in manual guise - UK, Africa, Australia. Also, if you can stick a TDV6 into a D1, then a D2 shouldn't really be a problem.....

Actually very few manuals came to oz, be lucky to find any for sale.
