So far I've only found ECU modification patches for the D3 TDV6 not petrol V8 or V6 (does the V6 motor have EGR?). e.g. IIDTool EGR And Speed Limiter Patches – BAS Remaps, Powering the Landrover tuning world!

So a bit of an update, I've had it back for about a week. I'm getting a check engine light about once a day. I was resetting it with the Nanocom. I noticed that while I was doing this, the fuel use, going by the dash computer, was quite high, over 21L/100km for around the suburbs.
A couple of days ago, I stopped resetting the code, and thought I'd just live with the engine light on the dash for a bit, and fuel use seems to have improved back to normal, although I haven't driven it a lot in that time.
So I'm wondering if once the ECU decides the EGR isn't working, it adjusts something in it's operation to cater for the fact it's not working, and doesn't simply just flash the dash light.
Anyway, makes me think that perhaps I should replace it, but wondering if partially blanking it to reduce exhaust gas flow into the intake, without totally blocking it, might be worthwhile. But I might run it as is for a bit and see how it goes.

Another Update
So I've been running it for a week now with the Check Engine light on Amber, and it's been all good. Today, the Check Engine light turned off by itself. I'm guessing the ECU has decided that it's not going to get sorted, and as it's not a critical problem, it will stop warning me. Fuel use seems to be back to normal. So will let it go a bit longer and see if it starts giving warnings again. If not, will probably keep the EGR blanked.
