Recovery as far as I'm concerned.
Quick question, are the centrally located front and rear loops on the D4 recovery points or tie down points? Just read the manual and it says something about not using them for offroad recovery, but I have a vague recollection of discussing this with the dealer when we bought it and I'm sure he said they were recovery points?

Recovery as far as I'm concerned.
Successfully used the front one to winch us and a 2500kg AOR Q+ out of a very large bull dust hole on the way out of Chambers Pillar last year. All went very well

The front and rear tow points are not rated but are considered strong enough.

Hi,
Doing the Simpson desert in Sept and trying to get advise on installing recovery points on the D4. Cant seem to get anyone who knows. Spoke to several LR dealers (including Ritters) and also ARB but nothing. One guys said to get these, TFD3PRK which are made by Terrafirma but they don't look very strong to snatch from. Anyone had any experience with these? Here is the link. WINCH RECOVERY POINT KIT - TFD3RPK - Terrafirma – Ocean Car Parts
Looking for any advise anyone can offer.
Many thanks, Roland
What is wrong with the front and rear recovery points the D4 already has - plenty strong enough.

I don’t know how they go with shock loading during a recovery, but static loads seems to be just fine....

Life is just a series of obstacles preventing you from taking a nap.
The stock points work just fine - as long as you haven’t done anything to damage them - always check any point before use regardless.
