The programming for the 6hp26 in those vehicles uses lots of TC clutch applications, just driving to the cafe for a latte... don't assume it's not worn because of it lowish km and lack of towing duties...

It’s called servicing, many owners believe the “sealed for life” mantra until it’s too late.
Regular servicing goes a long way to longevity.
Your sarcasm does have some basis though, the moment you drive off the forecourt your entire vehicle is beginning to wear out... Perhaps buy another straight away as a replacement.![]()

Many owners get fed this mantra from the Dealers. My daughter recently purchased a s/h BMW X3 and I told her to get the car serviced and definitely get the ZF auto oil changed. The local BMW dealer told her it wasn't necessary as it's sealed for life. I think my daughter's husband is of the opinion I'm an idiot who was trying to waste their money........![]()
At $7k + for a new tranny or $1600 for a full flush that will prolong the life of the ZF box I know what id be doing, regardless of the badge on the front of the car.
The BMW's run the same gearboxes as LR, and most are pushed harder. Ive seen a valve body out of one where only 1 solenoid wasn't fully gunked up.

Read through the replies so far and wanted to ask does it shudder on light throttle between 1600-2000rpm in 3rd gear or above at any speed? I had a shudder for well over a year before it got bad enough to have the gearbox rebuilt but going up hills was never an issue as revs were above 2000rpm. My easy cure to keep the shudder at bay was to keep the rpms above 2000 by driving in sports mode and manually changed down when the shudder was felt.
Seems odd you are only experiencing it at 90km/h going uphill.
