Thanks Eric,
I was wondering about the ebay stuff.
Was originally worried about the purchase of a land rover but with the amount of info and tech knowledge from members of this page I think I will be OK.

As said there are 2 belts, front and rear, allow $3000 minimum, best size tyre is 265/60/18, or if you can source some 17" rims(2.7l D4 can run 17" rims) you'll have a greater range of sizes and have the ability to have a more aggressive tyre on a second set of rims and save your 18s from possible damage when offroad.

So all went well with the timing belts today in and out in about 8hrs and both belts have been change. Checked the front engine seal and no problem there either.
Have been looking at the tires all day and have decided to go with the BFG KO2 275/65/18, hopefully i can get the spare to fit under the car after the upgrade.
Heading down to Automac Transmissions in the morning to talk to them about the transmission cover and filter upgrade, might swing past TJM and grab a redarc towpro and then Jaycar to see if i can sort something for the head unit and lack of Bluetooth music streaming.

Few other things i want to do next week are:
- duel batteries
- fit the Johnson rods (if they ever turn up)
- fit 2way - have a old GME4500tx of one of my old cars that i want to fit
- Mitch Hitch - if i can find a second hand one

Squigs- one thing you won’t be able to do with that tyre size....
If the compressor plays up or the vehicle drops - you won’t be able to drive it as the tyres will be jammed solid in the guards.
Search LRBT1 in google for the Bluetooth solution.
Worth every cent.
Hi Scott,
Half way through reading your build thread and see you have fitted the KO2 265/65/18, this might be my only option if that is all i can fit in the spare wheel carrier at this stage until i can afford some type of rear wheel carrier.
On my previous 4WDs i have always run 285/75/17 and always Mickey Thompson ATZ P3 these tiers got me around Australia twice with no punctures and about 80k out of both sets (rotated every 5k and always used correct pressures for driving type).
My biggest concern with the smaller tire size on the D4 is that most people fit the bigger tires to there cars now and unfortunately not all these people now how to use them, the amount of times i have come across tracks that have been rutted out due to the misuse of tire pressures still amazes me not to mention the amount of people bogged just because they do not have tire deflators or a compressor.
At the end of the day i think i need to trust the capabilities of the D4 and the traction control it offers.
P.S
Have emailed British American concepts and i will be getting the plug and play unit for Bluetooth upgrade.
cheers
