My vehicle had the first side replaced at 160k km in 2014 and the second at 254k km in 2018 so there can be quite a while between them.

Since I last popped in here, had a bit of progress on the new toy - Fitted Llams, Icom 455, Traxide system and Fyrlyt Mofos.... Got to finish the Tow Pro install and camera wiring for Tin Tent Camera and we are just about there!
Happy times....
Spent a couple of hours under the D4 last night replacing the temperamental AMK with its younger brother.
Easy task, cleaned the area thoroughly before install.
Also modified the compressor bash plate with more drain holes (aligned with the factory cover now) to keep build up down.
Fitted up and started vehicle to cycle suspension.
Look down and odometer reads 175,000km on the dot.
So other than replacing the desiccant, I take it that it is not worth rebuilding a AMK like it is with the Hitachi. On my last Hitachi rebuild I replaced everything except the piston and conrod so next rebuild I will include those as well but it is running quite well at the moment - 15 years old, 210,000km with one rebuild.
I have a full rebuild kit here for the AMK.
I just don’t have the time at the moment - so fixed it with cash!
I’ll rebuild it one day and use it for a secondary compressor.
