Brake fluid flush adapted oil sucker pipe into clear plastic hose into black fuel line and drew through new fluid 1300ml. Sucked out reservoir first as much as the filter screen allows and filled with new stuff for a head start. Must be a trick to removing those pesky screen inserts as same design on daughter’s Tiguan but at least the Discos is deeper.
Slow going but 80% of time is on the farthest rear passenger wheel as once clean stuff is there the others are quick. Top off fluid as it passes through.
New stuff was very clear colour Nulon Dot4 replacing some very dark brown used engine oil looking mucky stuff that came out first. It was changed 3 years ago during a paid service ‘supposedly’.
And you don’t need to take the wheels off to access bleed screw nipple. Not a drop spilt.

I usually swap brands everytime I do fluid for that reason. I might give that clear stuff a go. Sounds good. Be easier to see rubber.
The change in colour makes it easier to know the old stuff is out for sure.
I might try setting the car to bleed the abs next time and try that. On some trucks you can activate it. It brings the pump on. Then you just crack the nipples and keep it full.
Whatever it is made from - very impressed with how durable it is. Certainly no need for water proof seat covers.
Tempted to leave the cushions off plus remove the 3rd row seat base cushion as well and just refit the carpet - creates a great storage space without needing to remove the full seat assembly. Not that the D3 is short on storage space. The footwell in front of the 3rd row seats is another handy and secure spot for heavier items that you don’t want flying around.
Mine just sat around in the snow.
