This morning was fresh rear discs and pads for the D4. Ordered DBA street series rotors and bremtec euro line pads, all from Brakes Direct. Time will tell how they wear, but initial impressions are good!

I am running OBDLink and using their OBDLink MX+ adapter. The adapter is not cheap at $165 but the software is free and can be run on iOS and Android. Ironically the adapter cost more than the Android head unit.
Comms speed seems to be very good - 16 PID’s running with no real noticeable lag. They claim it is the worlds fastest Bluetooth OBD adapter. Have also used generic adapters and Torque Pro and they do seem to run much slower.
I particularly like the fact the gauges can be made to look like the D3 gauge bezels. To get some of the instruments you need to program some user-defined PID’s (same as Torque Pro).
If you leave it connected, it will go to sleep and not drain the car battery.
I use the same adapter on another car as well (but using either my phone or an iPad) so was happy to pay a bit more to get something that seems to work well.
I have tried the same adapter using Torque Pro as well but the graphics on OBDLink looks better.
These are the PID codes for the TDV6 D3 to add some of the specific LR instruments. Generally you leave the header information blank with OBDLink. The long name and short name can be anything you want. Should also work with Torque Pro.
This was found on a Russian website, so the English translations are my attempt using google. I have not tested all of the PID’s yet.

Not mine but this sorry sight 2007 D3 gave me rear and middle air distribution valves (I’ll rebuild) all the height sensors and 3 of the wheel speed sensors for my spares kit.
The mission was to get its Hitachi compressor but on removal found it was an AMK with 2013 date. It’s out and ready for sale if anyone wants a spare PM me and I’ll give you sellers details. Looks as new.
Looking for a working but old Hitachi to rebuild.
I also removed the air tank was as new. Interestingly there’s one line in and out to the tank.
Good practice ripping apart a wreck. Especially when you can cut the air hoses.

Looks like the Engine had been removed without taking the body off as well.
It was a petrol and was crash damaged at front so things like front cv joints etc were cut in half. Gearbox and diff also removed.
It’s a lot easier to remove things when you can be destructive to surrounding parts. Quite therapeutic actually.
Does anyone have an old Hitachi compressor surplus to needs?
