I've done something similar, by far the best thing I've done on any car, use them all the time

Ev parked- dog, mum and dad needed the D3

what was cool was mum. not mine ! Our pups mum was in another car jumped out and in to my D3 with her duaghter

mum and Mika.jpg Discos can be a bit more than great trips- Cool Memories occur. Mum was in a UTE and thought my Disco was the place to be and joined us! ( Hiliux would do that to me as well )

I bailed out of my Disco at Melb Cemetery with Mika. Left of Photo. I had planed to run home from Seaholme other side of Williamstown but was worried taking the dog past a 10km run limit I have for her. Bailing out half way seemed to give a 12km run! With getting a bit lost I visited Dights Falls , Studley park boat House, Fairfield Boat house, Thomas embley... guide-dogs place before hitting my normal running /riding places east of Melb. Mika did her First 1/2 Marathon + a bit with 23 easy Km running.
Loved it slowly and fuel tank is still not in need of more $$$$$$$$$$$$$

Hitting out a slow 10Km per day for a week before another Bad habit 42km in two weeks in Wangaratta Thats a easy Ev run as it is so much cheaper. Never fear- Planing a D3 Disco needed walk from East to Dargo. Delegating the non direct Drive to pick me up to the same Driver from today who I must say looks dammed good in my Disco. We easily ran past several times due to traffic lights and congestion. No Low range needed today. A few weeks an I might engage MTs will be on for that one!

Please contradict me if you so desire, but my (weird) thinking/reasoning is that whereas every man and his dog manufactures oil/fuel/air filters etc, perhaps there is only one manufacturer of plastic inlet manifolds due to comparative low sales so to speak as being only for the V6 engine. If my thinking is logical, maybe then the non genuine manifold is identical to the genuine?

There is a significant price difference and as I am about to change both mine (and replace the oil filter assy while in that area) as a preventative m/ance measure (164,000 klms) as I don't want a failure whilst caravanning on mainland later this year.

I'd be interested in everyone's thoughts on this.
Bit the bullet and did it myself this weekend. Some missing bolts and insulation covers around the injectors indicated that this failed drivers side manifold has been replaced before. And it had no FOMOCO or LR markings on it anywhere like the genuine replacement one that I installed. Took me about 8 hours, not including a couple of breaks and runs to the shop to pickup so replacement bolts and an injector puller to remove a stuck injector.

Otherwise was not too difficult a job, back brackets for fuel lines are fiddly, but most of all was just time consuming.

I think this was a second failure of the same manifold, and this second failed part was non genuine item. So I would probably stick with latest genuine stock you can get.

My temp repair with some carbon fibre cloth and resin held up pretty good for the month while I got the parts and motivation to do it.

    About a 12 Bundy Job I reckon!
