I’m looking forward to Shane’s pipe work delete video for 2.7s who can delete the EGRs and failure prone piping. On a 3.0 if you just bypassed the coolers I wonder what would happen? How much do they cool the exhaust gas anyway? Might be enough to diagnose as only other source of contamination is oil cooler (or head gasket).

It should be a fairly simple job with the right parts. How difficult you make it will depend on how much of the old pipework one wants to remove.

    Parts I'll be using:
    Aeroflow 22mm-19mm silicone reducer
Aeroflow 3/4" 90degree barb elbow. Expensive elbow, but its the only one I've found that looks like it has enough meat to drill and tap as generic brass ones are quite thin
Raceworks CTS-131 temp sensor. I'll be replacing the factory temp sensor as I'll no longer have the plastic tee that the original goes into. Will require new plug on the wiring harness (included with the sensor). This will be installed into the 90 degree elbow.
    Length of 19mm/3/4" heater hose.
3/4" hose joiner - optional depending on where you plumb the hose to.

Once its all said and done I'm hoping the engine isn't cooked If not then I'll be replacing every remaining plastic part in the cooling system that I haven't yet touched.

I think my rebuilt hitachi compressor has finally died. I've replaced every part on it but now it's leaking from the orange pipe on the metal cap.

Is that fitting also on a 3.0 litre?
For some reason I thought 2.7 only.
Would you have part number please.

    Thankyou.
Maybe someone can assist with confirmation as to its use on a 3.0 litre please?
Well worth changing out in the interests of preventative m/ance I reckon.

Let us know how you get on. I have one to swap mine out but every time I look at it I go “it can wait until next service.

I’m going to get that changed on mine when Dovers have it apart to sort the coolant issue and leak.

It is a different part number on 3.0 to 2.7 (LR1316063) but I imagine would still be plastic. I’d be interested to see the difference.

It’s a hose clamp connection on 2.7 but looks almost like a quick connector on 3.0.
