No I dont. But its strange that when I switch the car off. Let it rest for 10 minutes it shows the oil as full. I have drained the sump once and it is nearly 6 litres so I know it must be the sensor. Any way I have booked it for service??? not available till September!!!. Lucky I have another reliable 4wd to fall back on!!

Presumably over "time" you have periodically checked the oil level prior sensor playing up. And thus I assume you may have a fair idea what its oil consumption is, if any at all.

Therefore, if its consumption has been minimal, then if I were in your position I'd be quite confident in continuing with current situation and simply checking it daily after it has rested overnight.

Providing no serious massive oil leak suddenly starts (very unlucky) then whilst driving it, you really have no reason to assume an sudden oil usage problem exists which is causing the sensor to activate.

...out of the frying pan and into the fire?

Be careful, there are a lot of very ordinary vehicles out there which at first glance and initial road test appear to be the answer to a maiden's prayers... then the novelty wears off and you realise they are no better than the Disco and in fact much worse to live with.

For various reasons I have spent a fair bit of time lately in one of my boy's 2021 (I think) LC200 as he moved house.
Simply a luxurious light truck with no finesse whatsoever.

My D4 is much nicer to drive, quicker, stops and handles better.... and my son somewhat reluctantly agrees with me.

After having a D4 for almost 10yrs,and a LC200 for almost 5yrs,for those that want to move on,i would take the above comments with less than a grain of salt.

Sure the D4 handles and rides better,as it should,IS on all corners, and EAS.
But the LC is not that bad at all, particularly with KDSS.We found the seats in the LC to be way more comfortable than the D4.
Twice we have done 1200Km trips with just driver changes, once not even with a fuel stop,no issues at all.

As for faster, the published specs seem to be the opposite, and it certainly leaves our old D4, tuned, 2.7L well behind in the dust. But then again these vehicles are not racing cars.As for braking, who knows which is better, but the brakes on the LC are very good, and it weighs around 250KG heavier than our D4 did.

A luxurious light truck,is really is a laughable comment.

Our D4 was sold with around 100K on it,and had numerous issues over the years.
The LC has now done almost the same Ks,and not a single issue.Lower maintenance costs,no timing belts,LC arms, brakes seem to last longer, etc, etc.
Resale values are also way better,as are the number of accessories if needed, and GVM/GCM upgrades for those that want to tow the big weights legally.

The auto in the LC is no where near as well calibrated as the ZF,but a good tuner sorts that out,and it makes a world of difference.

Anyway, being a LR forum,i will now go hide under a rock, but facts are facts
