What’s everyone’s thoughts on remapping a 3.0 8 speed 2013 TDV6? My local Land Rover specialist doesn’t feel comfortable remapping it because he’s seen quite a few split inlet manifolds. But to turn off EGR you have to remap it don’t you? I’m not after a huge power increase, and not really much above SDV6 levels.

The manifolds will go anyway if you’re unlucky - they have 8 revisions of that Part now!

Thanks Tombie. Is replacing the manifolds a job I can do in the driveway or is it a mechanic job?

Or is it just more an item you replace once showing sings; unless you’re planning a big lap trip or similar?
Front's are hub units so not serviceable, rears are tapered rollers do would be worth checking at high mileage.

I think DJ is still carrying the scars from doing his. Possible but not an easy job, theres a lot of stuff to get out of the way before removing the manifolds. I understand at least 2 injectors need to come out too for clearance...

As usual a helpful and informative thread. We are keeping the D4 until our Defender arrives so as the extended warranty runs out in December we will be undertaking probably all of what has been suggested thus far.

So if anyone is looking for an excellent and well maintained TDV6 in around June 2020 keep us in mind it will be a steal

MY15, TDV6 seven seater with; meridian sound (absolutely the best system) black leather interior and indus silver paint, Traxide DBMS, Llams, 6x GOE rims and BfG Ko2 tyres with, ATM, a brand new carcass, 3x Rhino aero bars and a rhino roof basket, plus our famous custom made sliding tray and an icon 440 UHF. Add an OE alloy bar. For towing it has; 12 pin plus Anderson plug and REDARC TowPro V3 controller. Tinted windows all round and custom, removable, insulated window panels for rear cargo area and rubber mats. Currently at <1300km with a full and detailed service history by LRA. All fluids done plus LCA plus brakes all round. The car is the reason we will spend the extra coin and buy Defender rather than the rather lardy, slow, less than fun to drive LC200 which we can buy a lot cheaper than either a D5 or new Defender. It's been absolutely brilliant towing our Ultimate and AOR Q+ around the country and we will certainly miss it. Forgot to add, 5x19" rims and tyres, rear ladder and we are fitting a new OE windscreen shortly as the current one has been repaired 12 times so as far as I am concerned we are not leaving Adelaide without a new one. Can probably add a complete TPMS as well as I have a spare, industrial grade, one spare ATM

New Defender has very big shoes to fill
