    TDV6 to SDV6

    Can a 2015 TDV6 be “tweeked” to SDV6 specs?

It depends on which 'tweeker' you talk to but the short answer seems to be YES.

Roo Systems are one that say yes.

    Gally at Autocode says no.....

Can you just buy an SDV6 ECU & put it in a TDV6? Would that work for a TDV6?

Thanks for that! Autocode now appear to be saying “yes” also.

Yes it can, it can also be “tweaked” to higher than D4 SDV6 specs like to RRS SDV6 specs (225Kw & 700Nm), just bear in mind that the 8-speed auto is only rated to 700Nm. The EGRs can also be made non-functional at the same time as well

What’s confusing is that my local LR specialist said that he doesn’t feel comfortable remapping my TDV6 as he’s seen a lot more split inlet manifolds recently. Whereas other remapping places say that it’s safe.

Its a Discovery 4 3.0lt, so it's likely going to split the inlet manifold regardless of the tune.

Just to add, it was a cheaped out Ford part. The replacement is noticeably thicker.

My Roo Systems remap runs about 2psi higher boost overall. Not enough to split manifolds IMHO. The tuner there told me they ran Gleno's D4 HSE at significantly higher psi over standard during testing and no issues.

The manifolds will split regardless if youre unlucky. Touch wood, 193000km now and 30000km of those on my tune, no issues whatsoever. I do note that the 6 speed in mine is the 6HP28 rated to 650Nm, not the 6HP26 thats rated to 600Nm.
