Did he have a 2.7 or 3.0?
The 2.7 has a plethora of options available. The 3.0 is the sticking point.
Hi all,
Please excuse my ignorance as I appreciate that the main players for 18s for Disco 4 are the Compomotive and TuffAnt wheels.
On a recent trek through the North West of WA I happened across another Disco 4 wearing 18s of a different type.
The wheels were Kings Daytona Euro alloys (see pic) that the owner said required no mods to brake calipers etc to fit.
It was remiss of me to only take a photo of the rim and not the whole vehicle to note the exact model, suffice to say it was a disco 4, like mine (circa 2011).
Anyway, just wondering what people think. Any experience with this. Is there a model variant of the Disco 4 that can take stock 18s? You do occasionally see pics of them with 18s that aren't from the established players...
Interested in your thoughts.
Thanks
Joof

I read somewhere that tuff ant we’re bringing out aluminium wheels soon. Does anyone know if they’re going to be the same design or different?

Newbie here researching the details of the D4 for a potential purchase circa 2009 - 2012.
The first mob I would be looking at if I proceed would be putting 18's on it.
Excuse my ignorance but can the black 18" Tuffants fit straight on to a D4 3.0 HSE to replace the 19"'s?
I noted mention of brake caliper issues above and it got me concerned.
Thanks
If I recall correctly, there's two issues to consider:
1) fitting around the larger brakes on the 3.0L models, and,
2) ensuring correct load rating - 920kg and up?
On point 2, I believe there are some after market rims that will fit, but do not have the sufficient load rating.
Compomotive and TuffAnts meet both size and load requirements.
You would need to check others.
If at first you don't succeed, that's one data point. - xkcd
