Hi all, I managed to borrow a code reader and am now convinced it’s likely to be a wiring fault to the low pressure fuel pump / attached level sender unit at the top of the tank. Getting codes p0627 and p0628,
- Faulty fuel pump relay
- Faulty fuel pump
- Fuel pump harness is open or shorted
- Fuel pump circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty fuel pump control module (if applicable)
here is a really good description of possible cause in general applications plus a troubleshooting guide. P0627 – Fuel pump control -circuit open – TroubleCodes.net
looks like I need to drop the tank and confirm / fix, and soon as several trawls advise that these faults often accompany engine shut down scenarios.
anyone else had these faults and can offer any advise?
Thanks, I'll check but suspect tank is fine.
Given im short on time before heading away in Jan I've booked into AMV in Ringwood to investigate and resolve. I strongly suspect the wiring loom. Hoping it's not the low pressure pump..
Will report back in 2 weeks
