Good thought. However, my 18" Tuff Ant steelies with BFG's are blimmin heavy to get up onto the roof. Must weight about 200kg or thereabouts (*slight exaggeration!). I reckon I'd do my back in. How do you go with that?

Our Defender has a Mantec spare wheel carrier which opens with the door, so no inconvenience. Does the Ridij one for tge D4 do that?
I do like white vehicles with dark trim. Yours looks great.

I haven't updated this thread for quite a while.
I installed a K9 ladder a couple of weekends ago. Good piece of kit and easy install.
It makes it so much easier getting onto the roof now. A couple of photos:

For anybody following this thread and feels that putting the spare on the roof is a bit beyond them for various reason (mine was 'cos I'm getting fat old and ugly), I recently made up a winch to lift it onto the Rijidij RWC and which could also be switched over to the van to lift it's spare wheel as well.
