    Stuck EGR Valve

    Hi All,
Just got my 06 D3 TDV6 back from the Indy after having some front end work done.
I asked them to check the 'lumpy' idle whilst it was there.
The result is that one of the EGR valves is stuck 18% open, and one of the injectors is approaching tolerance. I'll leave the injector for now.

Being close to Christmas and getting ready to head off on a trip, I thought I's ask what can be done re EGR?
Replacing the EGR valves is cost prohibitive at the moment so I was thinking blanking.

Others have removed the butterfly, but I thought it was supposed to close at idle and removing it throws it wide open.

Can they be freed up? Given that's nothing more than a temp fix, it might get me over the trip.

    Thoughts? Advice?

    Ralph

Put a blanking kit in and be done with them, not sure what part of them fails but mine were replaced and i have the old ones here.
One was cleaned and the other looks ok so either one was clogged up the electrical component failed.

Well, I finally got around to lifting the bonnet and as luck would have it, I've already been blanked! Thanks previous owner!

So on to the injector as that's probs the cause of running a bit rough at low idle.

    Winner winner chicken dinner!
