    Price of 2.7 TDV6 Engine

Searching for something else, I can across this new 2.7 TDV6 engine from Ford - $9,853.74 .

How does this compare with the price of a new engine from other sources?

Still a huge amount, without labour,to repair a vehicle that’s worth quite a bit less than 25K,unless it’s a later D4,but they are not worth much more.

Getting close to borderline, but if my 2.7 blew tomorrow, and given a lot of my relevant other bits have already been replaced, I'd probably bite the bullet for the extra $4K over a low km version from DazzaTD5 (low km used ex Territory = $10K installed).
Just means the pension/super runs quite a bit sooner, but who wants to live too long (and we are about to get VAD anyway).
MY16 D4 TDV6 - with a little Cambo magic for towing "The Brick"
MY95 RRC LSE Vogue Softdash "Bessie" (turning circle comparable to QE II) with MY99 TD5 and 4HP24 transplants. Back home Nov 22 after a magic overhaul by Chivalry
SADLY SOLD MY04 D2a TD5 auto Classic and MY10 D4 2.7 both with lots of goodies

It would be a bloody hard decision for us as well,as ours is an immaculate low mileage vehicle.
Just hope i never have to make the decision

To replace a blown engine with a good used engine is the most likely economical solution but I am interested on how this Ford dealer price compares with new engines (not used) from LR or other sources.

If the same as other Ford costs vs LR costs for the same parts then it will be a lot cheaper.
