Because it is a specified LR service requirement but not needed in my view if not over tightened.

Available at just about any auto parts seller. I get mine from a independent parts supplier (a couple of different brands) but are available at SuperCheap, Repco, Autobarn, bursons etc - I normally use Ryco and no issues at all.
