    Aftermarket Stereo.

    Hi Tony,

I have the base 2011 D4 no SatNav.
I am going to buy the Kenwood also.
Where did you buy the wiring harness and facia from?

Just be aware there will be problems.

The 2011 units aren’t the same as 2010 or 2013 units and the modules aren’t compatible at this stage (even though they claim they are)

You likely won’t have working integration of the wheel controls, Bluetooth etc.

Nor will you be able to control the clock on the dash - which gives date / time data for diagnostic events.

Mike, if its easily done, can you remind us of what you did to upgrade your music/media system, and what now connects and works/doesn't work (I'm assuming here your 2010 originally had the base model)?

I never managed the upgrade. Got the unit from Overseas and it wouldn’t talk to my vehicle. Shortly thereafter the screen to be used was discontinued so I was 2 for 2.

Instead I went for a Garmin GPS with reverse camera and a LRBT1 module from the USA.

All it gives me is audio for music from phone and the GPS and camera - although they are arguably better than the factory offering - just no clean integration or CarPlay.

If the UK mob ever get their kit sorted I will fit a Double Din.
