Towing Mirror Recommendation for 2014 Landrover Discovery 4

Previously had a Pajero with Clearviews on which were awesome. When we got the Disco we decided to try the Milencos and they are fine. Give good vision to the rear and very little vibration. Our Discovery is a 2014 and we got the extra pads that are needed for the angle of the mirrors as well. When locking the car, the mirrors fold back without the mirrors hitting anywhere. Very happy with them so far.

You can get the Clearviews second hand on their site. Preloved Mirrors - Clearview You just have to be lucky to get some to fit the Disco. They'll still cost you $400-$500.

I have a 2014 D4. I started with Milenco grand Aero's. Due to the shape of the D4 mirror frame they do not clip on well. I used some rubber eraser cut at an angle to help with friction to help them hold on. In the end gave up on them. Have gone to Brunsgaard 4 point mirrors. Even with the longer arms for the D4 mirrors I still had one fall off and smashed. What I now do is I still have Brunsgaards but always use an ocky strap to clip around the inside of the mirror onto the mirror frame, essentially making the mirrors a 5-point connection. Have never had one fall off since. The Brunsgaards have less vibration that the Milencos. Attached is a pic to show what I mean. Really quick to clip on (10 sec) about 5 sec to remove.

Dont waste your money on Clearview, theyre dogb#$$ ugly, you need to remove the factory mirrors and internal door trim o fit them and then run the risk of breaking the electric adjusters in there.

I have used a set of Brunsgaard for about 5 years now (over 40,000kms towing) without issue - apart from the drivers side I wiped out on a Winnebargo going the other way on a narrow Tassie road! They just need to be adjusted correctly then are very easy to fit and remove. I also use a lock nut on the tightening thumb screw to prevent them working loose. Ken Olesen, their Australian rep, has been extremely helpful in the past. I suggest you contact him as the D4 needs some particular attachment hooks. Cheers, Jock.

I am also using the Grand Aero 3 on my RRS L494. We just completed 18K km's towing through NT and WA with no problems. They are very stable with only slight vibration on my vehicle. They have never forced the main mirror to fold in strong wind or when passing large trucks, unlike my previous mirrors. The Aero shape on the back of the mirror seems to help with this. I have the standard lens, you can also get a distance or convex lens I think. The standard lens does not quite allow me to see the top of the van and also wheels like my previous mirrors. I would probably go the distance mirrors if I purchase again. The attachment clamps (4) have a removable rubber pad. I purchased a separate pad kit designed for Landrover's. You would need to check if you need this for the Disco 4. It has a protruding strip of rubber across the pad to fit in the gap between the outer rim of the mirror and casing. They hold really well as long as you make sure the strip is fitted into the gap. Purchased the mirrors and kit online through separate retailers. I would purchase these mirrors again.

Milenco's get my vote as well, easy to fit, great in use. Can't imagine ever needing anything else!!!

Another vote for the Brunsgards. I had the Milenco's briefly, until one fell off after 200 klms. I find the Brunsgards are secure when fitted, and if you keep the fittings tight, there is little chance of dislodging them. Once set up for your mirrors, they are very easy to remove or fit, and that perhaps is their only negative. Would not be too hard for someone to remove them while you duck into the bakery when on the road.

Have to make sure that the lock nut is tightened++ on the Brunsgaards. I have lost one mirror because of this nut not done tight enough. They are not cheap. too much $ for what they are.
Now running Milenco aero3 - the 2 top cramps work better than expected. Mirrors vibrate less than Brunsgaards.Cost about$100.

ok so what am i doing wrong i to have the Milenco Grand Aero 3 and yes they are rock solid never looks likes coming off but they do get a big vibration and seeing out of them is not that great. do you have the large part of the mirror closest to the car or the other way around?
