Xlifter and llambs seem much of a muchness from what I’m reading. Is it a ford vs Holden type of thing?

Just read up on Xlifter, has 7 height settings, wireless comms to the hidden controller and upgradeable software. Levelling feature is cool (max 4.5 degrees). Apparently smart phone app coming soon, this may do away with the controller altogether.

    Me like very much.

As soon as you have to get your phone out, open an app, it’s lost on me. Something like this needs to be split second change - eg switch, controller.

If I have to open an app I might as well open IID App.

You know what, I’m wondering the same thing. I’m a tech person, but if I have to open an app why not just buy an iid and adjust the height with that.

Please correct me if I’m wrong as I don’t have iiD, llams or xlifter. One of the 3 are on the shopping list tho.

I have had my D4 since new and done a heap of off road work, and never really needed any of them.

Sure maybe once or twice it would have been nice to have, but have had no worries without it.

I have the GAP tool, but never used it to raise the vehicle.

The unit comes as standard with a wireless controller (your "switch") The blurb on the website talks about being able to upgrade the controller via a smartphone app as a later upgrade.
This x lifter is to change the ride height with more 4 more options re height settings than standard 3. Just like Llams, although Llams has 3 extra height settings i think. Both are hardwired in "piggy back" style onto the EAS ECU . The xlifter includes a levelling switch allowing independantly different heights per corner and runs the controller wirelessly.

Llams is hardwired to the control knob and has no levelling feature other than what the car already does.

    Both seem really capable.

GAP iid and Rovacom VCIQ are diagnostic devices that can be used to calibrate the EAS only.

Ah ha. You sir are wrong here. Gap has a dedicated menu with three preset height settings just for going off-road. Open app, into menu, push new height setting. New height attained. They are configurable to whatever mm raise or lower you’d like within the parameters of the EAS.
So I have the app ability, and I find it too slow for regular use. Fine for occasional use when I go away. I set a new height at the start of the off road part of the trip and lower at the end.

When I was getting my car serviced recently the Indy had a Xlifter on show. Price was $780 from memory. The Llams is about $580. So there is a difference in price. Is that difference worth the extra height settings and self leveling aspect of the Xlifter? I do not sleep in my car so the leveling aspect is lost for me. I use the LLams as the car is always on its lowest setting around town as it makes getting into the car easier my my old body.
