    D4 (2012) Mirror Replacement

Due to personal stupidity I've damaged my passenger side mirror. The mirror itself and the casing has come off, and the 'frame' is pretty loose. The electronics still work and it folds etc.

I found a wrecker who is selling the side mirror from a 2010 D4 (for $400) but he sells me that it's not the same connectors as my SDV6 from 2012 - the 6-speed version just before the rotating transmission knob update.

I was hoping that they're the same so that I can just have it replaced straight up, as I can't really buy the casing anywhere.

Can someone please shed more light on this?

    Thanks!

I got a non-folding one (didn’t realise at the time) to replace mine. This necessitated me swapping all the plastic outers onto my mirror body which was still working ok. Was fiddly but with some patience easy enough. Maybe you could do similar?

I think your issue is they moved the indicators onto the mirror about that time?

Anyhow, give my idea some thought.

No indicators on mine. My main worry is the folding mechanism, preferably it's a like-for-like which means I can replace it.

Otherwise I'm spending $400 just to replace the casing, which is not ideal but still cheaper than a few other options I looked at.

If you tow a van, for not much more than the quoted $400 you can buy a pair of clearview mirrors, you lose the folding ability but you can fold by hand. I have a pair and they are much better for towing than OEM.
