“Gearbox fault” P081C (park input circuit)

I had a new HPFP only a year or so ago, when I had that issue happen it was always throwing P0087 fuel rail pressure low as well.

This time around that code is not appearing so I’m hoping it’s not related to that. I wonder what warranty comes with a HPFP just in case though. will have to find out

ive cleared all faults as there were a few (The car actually bugged out once I plugged the nanocom in and all electronics died for a moment so the car threw about 20 codes, luckily there was only one gearbox code but as far as the others I don’t know which ones might have been associated to that and which are just from the electrics going crazy) I’ll see what comes back when it inevitably happens again

I'm probably way off beam (again), but when mine "died" about 9? months ago (after getting back from Nth Qld/Darwin), DazzaTD5 eventually found it was bad connectors in the ABS ECU under the bonnet which he actually refurbed while waiting for a new one - old one is still in there.
For a guy who sometimes says electronics are not his favourite, it was a pretty good call.
He mentioned the other day that he is expecting more of this situation to occur.

No, but I'm sure Darren would be happy to oblige as the explanation would likely go over my head.
Unless he chips in on here, text is probably best to 0418 570 305 and he is a busy one man band, so may not reply straight away.

Either way would be good to get the info in writing on here.

OK WTF, I just fixed my P081C-64 by replacing the blown interior light fuse !! Not after having first tried to fix it by buying another gear shifter and swapping it... (luckily i got it cheap from wrecker)
