You couldn’t make this stuff up!
Mate of mine put me on to the fact that older LCs have a screw jack rated to 2.5T I believe, with lots of reach. No oil leaks and unlikely to just let go due to the mechanical screw. He has a couple he uses all the time, as he is an extreme off-road enthusiast.
Unfortunately they don't pop up for sale all the time. I managed to get a couple of hi-lux jacks for a few bucks, 1.5T which should still be more than OK for one corner at a time. I have a Tuffant adapter, just need to modify the head of the jack to fit. Definitely better than the flimsy OEM job.
Haven't had time to play yet and it may not work out but the jacks cost me next to nothing, so we will see. 465mm extended from base to tip. Not sure if that is enough but play will tell. I'd plan to use a removable base plate anyway .... so there is more height.
HYDRAULIC BOTTLE JACK 4000KG - Autobarn
Purchased this today, tried with the Tuffant adapter.
Both the 4000kg and 6000kg ADVERTISED Raised height, you need to minus 60mm to give you the max height without extension. Both models 4000kg/6000kg is at 200mm lowest, and 325mm heighest.
I tried to lift the rear lower controlarm fine.
Okay, thanks.
As for the hole adapter, is it the same as the Tuff Ant?

Thanks.
Just bought myself one of those air/hydraulic jacks. It seems it was the last in captivity in WA for the timebeing.
It's definitely a Nitto fitting which is different to ARB's, which is a USIndustrial STD.
A quick call to ARB got me a couple of spare fittings, which screw neatly into a Repco Nitto fitting, effectivly making an ARB to Nitto adapter. Now I don't have to fart about changing things if I ever by any air tools.
Tried the jack out carefully on the chassis. What a hoot!? None of this cranking the lever thing. Sweet as!
