Additional access hole through firewall D4?

I’ve got a few wires running through the clutch hole in my auto 2013 D4 firewall, and I don’t have enough space in this hole to run a trailer camera wire and some other wires. Is there another convenient access hole or can I just drill a 1” hole an inch or so towards the brake pedal and add a grommet? Is there anything important in that location between the twin skin firewall that I should be careful of?

There is a large grommit not far from the brake reservoir wth a bunch of other wires/loom. Plenty of room there.

Dealer did our Redarc wiring by drilling thru the firewall @ 5" above the rh drivers side bank of the v6. ...with grommet.

It must be easier access that way as the grommet under brake booster is v difficult to access on our SC....

Not sure if the SC is any different. Was a ***** to access but I used a yellow tongue chaser from the footwell end to feed up. Made the job easier.

Mind you, I unplugged the TCM to provide more space.

Additional access home through firewall D4?

Oh right. It seems there’s a few other options available. Thanks guys I’ll try one of those before I get the hole cutter out.

I’m looking at running 6b&s or bigger from the aux battery to a new Anderson in the rear cargo area and then terminate it at the tow bar. Plus uhf cables and antenna wire and a trailer camera wire also.

Let me know how you went with locating the hole. I’m about to tackle the same thing as soon as my cable with Anderson plug arrives by post. Any pics would be appreciated

    Cheers
