From your original post you say that you are in off road height and lowering on to jack stands.
As far as I am aware the computer will detect an obstacle while lowering and raise the vehicle to protect the underbelly/chassis from damage. This is how some engage "extended height" while off roading because it is not a setting that can normally be accessed without OBD equipment. I think that what your car has done is what it has been designed to do.
