Interesting. I’m doing a set up at the moment.
I only have the floors on the 2/3 of the rack and will be putting a set up on the front 1/3 in the next few weeks (still waiting on panels and laser cutting).
I think I used the supplied screws and screwed them through the top plastic cover and into the roof. I carefully measured it all out and made sure each hole went into the roof panel. I painted each opening with anti-rust paint for protection.
I think I may have discarded the supplied gasket. From memory I used a commercial grade roof sealant as I had run out of marine silastic.
FYI, I replaced the domed ProSpeed fasteners with slightly longer (10mm I think) countersunk ones under the solar panels. The panels now sit flatter than in the above pic. I also drilled holes in the ProSpeed roof panels under the solar panels to drain water and provide some heat dissipation.
Cool.
I’m only fitting 90w of solar on mine, good for a max of 4.6a, as this will be sufficient to maintain the vehicle when not in use and when camped a couple of days will top it up.
I have a piece of Black Check Plate being profiled with 2 openings to allow 2 45w Poly panels to be flush mounted and then the whole lot bolted where the front floors would go.
Power runs down the P/S A trim and into the Controller up front (currently being wired).
