Also, an installed redarc tow pro elite looks like it was there from factory. There’s an excellent thread that give exact installing instructions

I have one of these fitted to a battery in every vehicle I own. I bought the MX5.0 charger to use with it.

It helps identify battery problems early so you don’t get caught out.

But you will need a controller if towing more than 750kg. The issue with the hitch is that it hangs down low and some people prefer to replace it with a straight bumper-bar height one, like the Mitch hitch.

The reality is that there's nothing really required to be fitted to these cars because, unlike most other options on the market, it's mostly all there already. As an example, the lights are good enough that I've never felt any need to change them. Suspension lift? Irrelevant because of the EAS. Tyres? The electronics and suspension let it go places on road tyres that other vehicles need aggressive off road tyres to deal with. And so on.
Never realised with the tow bar! That's outstanding, and just makes me even happier on the purchase!

I use the original tow bar as provided with our 2016 TDV6 whenever we take the van but do remove it for off road use with just the vehicle. I must add we also take the van into some remote places but have never yet been caught up by it hanging low.
I did look at buying an after market replacement at first but baulked at paying 700 bucks or more for a bit of welded square tube made up in China for a few bucks. Glad I decided to spend the money on beer instead as the normal part is quite satisfactory.
    Good luck with the vehicle.

I just flipped our tow bar..has worked fine for 9 months of towing so far. The shackle holes are a real pia tho. So got some extended ss bow shackles to fix the problem.

Don't buy the Redarc brake controller. They are a good piece of kit, but far too expensive, like most Redarc products.

Try the Hayman Reeese proportional controller.
It has the same remote type installation but is nearly half the price.

Also, I prefer the 'boost function to the Redarc's manual mode.

    REDARC is 100% Australian made

    From their website

Always have been and always will be Australian made and Australian owned

Off the back of our 40th Anniversary in 2019, the year 2020 is a continuing celebration of Australian manufacturing and Australian Made products*. REDARC has partnered with the official Australian Made Campaign and adopted the iconic Australian Made and Owned logo.
REDARC will continue to excel as a manufacturer in Australia. For 40 years REDARC have been researching, designing, developing and manufacturing a range of electronic voltage converters, power supplies, battery chargers, brake controllers and trailer braking products right here in SA.
With a growing export portfolio, the time is right to bring more attention than ever to our Australian made products and we believe that ‘Australian made’ is a point of competitive advantage.
We know that fellow Australians also feel strongly about supporting local industry and using the Australian Made logo is the easiest way for customers to identify these products.

Mate, welcome to the LR life. We quite enjoy and hope you do too!

I am an hour out of Canberra in Braidwood. Hit me up with a PM if you want to chat about servicing around town, etc. The LR Indy situation around Canberra is... interesting... And has some changes of late.

Always up for a chat, especially on the LR's... We might have a few dotted around the house yard... Hahaha
