I know what you mean. I just ordered one too! I'm hesitant about getting a re-map though as it is the original engine and it has over 530,000kms on it. Still umming and ahhing though, so you never know.

    Understood

I understand the bit about towing........that said.......I do drive the D4 plenty of other times and a snappy throttle does have some appeal!

You guys make me spend too much money

I just received my throttle controller this morning, took 15 minutes to fit.

Went with a different make to iDrive, Windbooster 4S.

My word, anyone who says these have no effect is obviously smoking some of the good stuff!

In Race mode its like someone has stuck a red hot poker up its backside, even with minimal throttle it flies.

Tried running it in Sport+ mode and deliberately went along a local road which has 6 roundabouts. Previously on these I have had on numerous occasions the dreaded no response as I enter the roundabout requiring a change of undies.
This time it was all seemless, in fact I also tried it in Sport mode on the way back and it definitely had more instant take up than without it.

Time will tell whether that unwanted trait returns, but so far all good so fingers crossed.

    regards
    John

Yep. But on a 2.7.... remap first, added the iDrive later (some may remember I was a huge skeptic so figured I’d give it a go and see what happened)

    It’s now next level enjoyable.

I tow in Sport mode with the iDrive on Auto.
Never felt it was anything but an improvement.

When you need it, there’s much nicer response to throttle input.

I fitted mine yesterday, Happy Australia Day, and went for a test drive I only put it on U-2, and that feels a bit more peppy than having it in "Sand" mode. I haven't tried any settings more radical as my RHS CV joint is making a noise and I'm getting it replaced next week, (it has had two gutful's of grit due to a torn boot and then the clip came off), and don't want to break it before then, as I have broken two CV's on front wheel drive cars in the past.

Depends where you live. Nearly two weeks to WA, days in the east.
