No changes to how the performance is managed, the engines protections remain.
I have both a remap and the iDrive. Its a different experience again [bigwhistle]

As the heading says, I am not one for mucking around inside the 'lectrickery' boxes on my 300+k Km 2011 D4 HSE.......but........having read the posts on this one I have convinced myself you good folks are on to something. So some of my hard earned has been exchanged for one of these little add-ons. Once it arrives and is fitted it will hopefully enhance my towing experience, not that its at all that bad in any case.
My judgment remains reserved until I get to have a crack!
The mind trick from a throttle controller is not unique to the TdV6 either. Any car with a fly by wire throttle will feel more responsive with a throttle controller until you become accustomed to the change.
After a while when you forget it is fitted anyone who wants that first “wow” moment who has only be using U2 only has to change to a higher setting to get that initial feeling back.
And if you use the auto setting - it will eventually map to U9.
Turning it off becomes a real buzz kill.
They would sell more if they gave them out for free on the condition you have to remove after 30 days and then drive the car it was fitted to before you send it back. You would not make it to the post office before you refitted it.
Hope this belongs here and not in LLams thread.
Let me be first to admit, I’m no mechanic but I can follow instructions. I fitted my Llams today after many hot sweaty hours trying to get old plugs out and new ones in. Finally got it together and thought I had better start up and check before I put all the panels back in. Started vehicle and there is a lot of noise coming from engine revving so fast. Funny I thought...funny something obviously not right. Spent more hot sweaty hours removing and refitting to ensure all Was seated properly.
no luck...another roar as engine revved like mad again.
what the H... I thought to myself, reread instructions, all seemed ok. Attach Gap tool see what error occurs. Well could I get my iPad to read it, of course not. Never failed me before but now...the first time I need it to find error, doesn’t work. “Cannot connect”
Panicking now, tools down, have a drink, cool down. Think about it. Pull gap tool out of side pocket it sits in and realize when I took the off panels to fit LLams, I had of course removed cable from OBD port. Reattach cable to port
and I could finally read. Gap tool on iPad hoobloodyray.
sure enough gave me 2 throttle errors. Could not understand why at all, what did LLams have to do with throttle? Long story short, a couple of days ago I had fitted throttle controller. In my contorted and convulated efforts to fit LLams I had slightly knocked the I drive connector and it was slightly adrift of its connection. Problem solved.
if anyone in Adelaide needs a hand to fit LLams or I Drive...don’t call me.
cheers
Pete.
The last 2 posts does highlight a few inherent dangers with the throttle controller.
Don’t make changes when in motion, make sure the controller is no where in reach of any passengers who like to play pranks, and make sure the plug is fitted properly.
Try going from off to U9 when driving and it is like someone else stomping the throttle pedal. Don’t do this in traffic or near anything.
After all the reports here I bit the bullet and just ordered one. For information only the code BCW10 still works and the cost was $177.35 after all discounts applied. Now the wait!!
