I noticed when I had some torque convertor problems that when flicking the key off and on again to reset faults, that the car would restart without cranking if rolling, so I wondered if this was possible in low range and yesterday I tried it out and found it is, on a steep hill as the box seems to go to 3rd when powered down and up again. I first tried it on a tar road and then wondered if it would lock the wheels on dirt so tried it on the other side of the hill which is dirt with no wheel lock up. Due to the 3rd gear business I 'd say it would need a steep-ish hill or long straight road to build some speed or need to be towed to start also on a straight road, as the steering is very heavy without the engine running. Something to bear in mind if the starter motor fails.
