    Enjoying driving my D3 again

as the subject line states I'm once again enjoying driving my old D3. Have had all 4 airstruts replaced, tie rods and rod ends, rear wheel bearings and new tyres fitted with 4 wheel alignment.

It is nice to drive again and loud whining noise I had from the rear wheel bearings has gone.

there is still a little play in the steering which I would suspect is the rack and possible lower steering column. I won't be doing these for the time being.

Next job will be new roof lining including down the pillars as mine is sagging.

I'd have liked to do the rear control arms upper and lower as well as upper front but nothing is really indicating they need to be done. so if it aint broke . . .

I was almost up for a new windscreen driving back from my LR indie, he lives up a long dirt road used by quarry trucks, I always slow right down when I see an on coming vehcile, wa n ker in the truck did not slow at all doing about 90 ish and threw up a largish rock which I just saw coming at last moment, a resounding "WACK" as it hit high on drivers side screen and I waited for the screen to shatter but could not even see a chip.
As they say in the titan ad . . . LUCKY!!
